Welcome to Facing the Challenge: The DC Cancer Control Plan 2005-2010. Our Plan has been created by representatives from the District's four cancer centers, nonprofit organizations, academic and research institutions, community leaders, the DC Department of Health, cancer advocates and others dedicated to reducing the number of new cases of cancer, the number of cancer-caused deaths and to improve the quality of life for cancer survivors in the nation's capital. This Plan is a roadmap for the future of cancer control and prevention in our community.
The Cancer Plan is searchable by topic on the Table of Contents. We suggest you begin by reading the Executive Summary, Goals and Objectives, and Access to Care chapters to get an overview of cancer in the District of Columbia.
